A guy around here is selling an 05 with about 70k miles private party for 15 grand. I called about it before I knew the price and I won't be buying it because it'* priced too high. I drove an 04 with 30k on it that was selling for 20 grand at a dealership.

Dunno if that info helps at all.

that is my point. My car has 65,000 miles less than that one. That should be worth something in $$. ------ even .25 cents a mile would bring my car to my $29k asking.

You had gap insurance on it too, IIRC. If so, that'* not a true indicator of market value.

I'd keep it! It'* a fast, good-looking car that can haul a whole family around in serious comfort...what'* not to love?

What'* your current vehicle?
Is anything still owed on the GXP?
Is there a financial necessity to selling it?

GAP insurance was with my Credit union. The Insurance paid 19,700 for it. After that the Bank paid the rest of my loan off. So it was a true indicator of market value at the time.

I bought my car new for less than that. I wish you the best but reality says otherwise.

Things tend to cost a bit more here in the northest...houses,cars, pretty much everything. I'm always amazed when I watch TV and there is a couple looking at a house for a mere 350k and it is brand new construction with granite counter tops. LOL You can buy a large shed here for that money, so hopefully I will find someone local who wants an "almost new" car and is willing to pay "a little" more for it. It was over 40k when it was new here in NJ.
Thanks again for the help guys. It did put things in perspective.

What county in Northern NJ do you live in? I'm up in Sussex county.

Good luck selling the GXP though, if that'* what you plan to do. Honestly though if you guy'* need a car, then you might want to keep it.

back in 06 i test drove a brand new 05 GXP with only 500 miles on it and it was priced at $25,000 out and door and it had never been titled to a name. and that was at my local pontiac dealer. and in my area everythign is waaay over priced and every single person drives a lexus or mercedes. i also own a Jaguar XJ and i bought it new @ 76k and now just 3 years later its worth less than 30k wth only 35k miles
