I went out and took some pics. Looks like it might be an SE. Did the SE have foglamps on the front?

All of em have fog lamps, but like yours, the SE fog lights are way out to the sides.

Also, the rear bumper wouldn't have "Bonneville" written in that spot if it was an SSE.

That'* interesting.. You don't have the criss-cross taillamps either. Is it possible to have the SE style lamps on an SSE? Was yours ever rear-ended or in an accident? Were the taillamps replaced?

Thanks everyone for the good info! I guess that my Bonneville was a worse deal than I thought!!! I mean, I like it, but I probably should have paid less for it than I did, given the circumstances! It does have some nice features though, I guess! I didn't get the supercharger b/c I heard that they were trouble in the older engines (I'm guessing that I was probably wrong about that too, huh?) and I didn't get leather because my wife hates leather. And as you can see the exterior needs some work. Oh well. So much for my childhood dream car

Well, I guess that I'll have to change my login to 1995bvSE <grin> Or I'll just have to go and get an SSE and we'll have two Bonnevilles in the family... I've toyed with the idea... the thing is that I'd have to get rid of my '93 Chevy Lumina... though it wouldn't be hard to part with a Lumina, I know its history... family bought it in '95 with complete maintenance records and 60K miles... now has 150K and still runs like a champ!!! The poor Bonneville needed about $1000 in tires, tunups and the like, but I must say, its an amazing car! The previous owner must have turned it in for maintenance reasons, not because it has issues. You're right, JR, it calls for more maintenance than rice, but, you're right, it'* a powerhouse! I love the Buick 3.8L Series II. Now that I've owned one, I could never go back!!

1995BvSSE,

Your car is mechanically almost identical to an SSE. The only exception is that your car has a single outlet exhaust. The fact that someone put an SSE badge on the doors makes it distinguised from the rest of the SE'*. Your car is a very nice ride, and with 205 hp, it is nothing to sneeze at. (Besides, it is green. The FASTEST FWD production engine car was a GREEN Bonneville that did over 202 mph--something the RED Bonneville owners seem to forget) Just playing!

It is a sharp car. And even if it doesn't have the SSE ground effects, fog lights, and exhaust, you still have the bucket seats and console shifter. It is still sporty.

I agree with Will, don't remove your badges and don't change your login. You bought the car in good faith, so you weren't trying to deceive anyone (unlike the fool who sold it to you as an SSE). It is now an integral part of the car'* history.
