Post your VIN number. Somebody can tell you by that.
In my 1997 service manual 4th and 5th digits determine the model. As in HX = SE
and HZ = SSE. My SSEi is HZ with an engine code 1 (supercharged).

I'm going to guess that you have an SLE. The SLEs did not have any SLE emblems until 1998. In the earlier years, like 93-95 they didn't have any emblems at all. I'm not sure if they made an SLE in 96-97.

I can get you prices and part numbers for SLE emblems if you want, from another year. Just tell me the color of your car if you're interested.

Whoa! I have a '95 with the 4th and 5th digits HX. I wonder if someone put SSE emblems on it before they sold it to me! The insurance registers it as an SE... weird.

I just checked the carfax for it too!! I guess that I have an SE with SSE emblems!

Hey, wait a minute (my brain started working again after the recent sudden panic).. I thought that all SSE'* have a center shift console and all SE'* have a steering wheel shifter. Mine has the center shift console. Now I am confused. Anyone heard of an SE with a center shift or does someone have some insight on my VIN?

Chris

Mine is a 95 SSE with a center shift.

Major thing to check though. On the 1995 SSE, the fog lights were closer together in the middle, and the SE were farther apart. Look at my pic on the left. Also, the bumper should say SSE embossed on it.

Interesting! Looks like you have an SE, you might have the SLE package.

I couldn't help but notice the taillamps. They appear to be the SE lamps. The SSE/SSEi lamps have black criss-cross patterns on them. Check the fog lamps. Have you got any green displays on the instrument panel, or is everything red? Have you got a compass?

I wonder if someone could tell us the factory code (on the tire) for the SLE, so those with it could identify it...

Default SE/SLE

I recently bought a '94 Bonneville SE, with no emblem or badges to indicate it. VIN is HX and the original dealer sticker still in the glovebox.

The sticker states it has the Sport Luxury Edition (SLE) package which consists of the following:

*Custom interior w/bucket seats with leather seating area
*Front seat console with rear heater-A/C vents
*Trunk security net
*Thaxton Carpet and floor mats.
*Monotone applique and rocker moldings
*16" aluminum wheels
*P225/60R16 touring tires
*Rear deck spoiler
*3.06 axle ratio

It also has a bunch of other options besides the SLE group:

*Lamp group: rear reading, engine compartment, chime-tone gen, passenger assist straps, headlamp-on warning.
*Cruise control with resume/accelerate
*Rally gages with tach.
*Illuminated entry system
*Deck lid remote, power remote
*Power mirrors
*6-way power driver seat
*AM/FM ETR stereo radio system with clock, cassette with auto reverse, steering wheel radio controls, 6-speaker perfomance sound
*Electric rear window defogger
*Variable effort steering
*Power antenna
*Lighted vanity mirrors (L/R)
*Leather wrapped steering wheel
*Twilight sentinnel
*Remote keyless entry
*Traction control

The shifter is leather covered but that'* not listed. Maybe it'* part of the interior package?

Hope this helps.
