GM dipstick tube part number 12611013, used on many 2.2l and 2.4l engines
There is a tube that goes nowhere next to the dipstick. I'm curious to know if anyone knows why it'* there, did it have a vacuum or water function at one time?
My guess is it is for something that was designed away in later versions of the engine, then this was either forgotten or never redesigned for parts commonality.
Next time I see one of these engines in a yard I'm going to look for it.
