it can be pretty tricky I guess, I don't no anything about olds 88-98'* I don't even try to identify the two
I know that I get the 88'* confused with SSE/i'* from a distance
the grille and headlight are the first thing I see (8
and don't EVEN get me started on CUTLASSES AND MALIBUS
cars that cunfuse at a glace IMO
cutlass & malibu
88 & Bonneville
Aroura & Intrigue & OCASSIONALLY Reviera
GXP & SE
jk
others...................
I can see how some get cars confused if they don't drive/or have any interest in them

I just had my rad flushed and the fuel filter changed. When the guy underneath asked the guy up to what filter number, the guy on top asked what year of Grand Prix it was. I said 2002 Bonneville. I could see his expression on his face that he just embarrassed himself and realized he already knew that.
I have a 97 Bonneville SE and my wife has a 2001 Grand Prix GT. I picked up my neighbor at the airport the other day in my car, and she said "This is a Bonneville?? I thought you had the same model car as your wife!"
I can see mistaking a 2000+ Bonneville for a Grand Prix. If you've ever seen them sitting side-by-side they are very similar. But a 97?
