You'll never get a visual inspection in indiana for no cat, I've removed it on three of my vehicles over the past several years, I even got a noise ordinance ticket one time with my old probe, but never hassled about the cat. Removing the cat will give you a noticable increase in exhaust resonation and raspyness. I would only remove it for performance, which would probably be minimal in this case. Because it really increases the exhaust tone levels inside the car which can sometimes be just plain annoying, especially with a flowmaster muffler.

If your looking for a throaty sound, get a hi flow cat and a muffler instead of running the risk of getting caught without it, and dont give me the whole
speeding isnt illegal till you get caught
cause itll be that time you dont remember when you take it to a dealer and put it on the life that you'll get fined.
Edit: its a figure of speech meaning itll be the one time you forget.

Just mind you, if you order a DP from ZZP, Intense or 3800 Performance, they include Hi-flows.

Some OBD2 Bonnevilles may still need an O2 spoof downstream with a high-flow cat.

couldnt you just keep the stock o2 sensor? im not familiar with the 2000+ bonnies, but i know i plan on keeping my o2 sensor by using one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/O2-Se...spagenameZWDVW it will go right after the cat, the same general location of the stock one. not sure if this could be adapted to work on a Bonneville or not, but just thought id share.

OBD2 Bonnevilles (and all other OBD2 vehicles ALREADY HAVE an O2 after the cat. You don't need that bung. The problem is the high-flow cats can sometimes mess with a rear O2, so some people have to switch to a spoof when they go with a performance cat.

Your car will sound like A * *
Your car will smell like A * *
Your fuel mileage may be A * *

And you'll gain nothing but A * *.
