No thats not what I mean, what I mean is you can talk to a real person over the phone and order a part even if you dont know the part number. Not everyone knows or remembers every part number there is in a car. Consider this what if I need a part for a switch and didnt know the part number to a switch. At least I can call someone and tell them what it looks like and where it came out of. Thats all. It nice to be able to talk to a real person, instead of this automated internet world, Right! I'm sure everyone in here would agree with me.

BigBad, don't misunderstand me and tag me as a butthole. I'm just trying to tell you that you can double your discount by asking US the part number. You can usually get an answer from us on the part number within an hour or two.

How do I get the discount on gmpartsdirect.com ? Is it already factored into the total?

ON topic though, I still prefer walking into a store, or dealership if need be ( but I usually try parts stores) and get the part I need, that way if it is wrong they have to face me afterwords, LOL.

Yes exactly, thats my point. but by the way. I priced out a MAF sensor and the cost is usually 200.00. ours is 140. with core also I priced out a AC/SC pulley tensioner and the usual cost was 120.00 ours is $56.39. so theres your percentage if you want to look at that way. These are all Pontiac parts and from a Dealership. So I'm trying to help out everyone here. But if you all feel that its not worth it well then I hope others on this site can take advantage of having an account with a dealership and not some joe schmoe manny and schmoe store.

Do they have an "800" number, or web presence? If I had to call them long distances, that would have to be factored into my cost. I tried one other site - http://www.buy-oem-parts.com/ a couple years back which is Crown Cadillac/Olds in New Jersey, for a window regulator. The price wasn't bad, but it was still cheaper at gmpartsdirect. I personally like options of places from which to buy. I also like saving money. Its better that the money stay in my pocket.

I give the moderators, administrators and members here credit for being more than helpful with providing part numbers...even if you aren't exactly sure what the part is called. So, get your part numbers, make your calls, or web searches, and get your best price. If dealing with a person one on one at a dealership, or on the phone is important and worth the extra cost (if there is one) then go that way. Sometimes, cost isn't everything.
