Nismo, heat is the killer of our transmissions, more so than yours. That'* why you see alot of guys going this route. My temps dropped dramatically when I added another cooler to the OEM external cooler (92-95 SSE/SSEi and SC/SLE got them). But the damage had already started at that point. The trans failed totally 18 months later. The primary mode of failure was torque related, but the secondary failures were heat related.
However, cold trans fluid is a bit harsh on the valve bodies of the 4T60 and 4T65 transmissions. So when you go to a monster cooler AND bypass the core, it'* best to get a viscosity/thermo controlled cooler so the fluid can rise a bit up from cold quicker, then maintain.
