Default A Visit, Yard CAR-nage, and an Upgrade

Yesterday at noon, I met up with another well-known member here and we had a great afternoon.

I took him to a somewhat local yard here...forgot to tell him how much like heII this place is, lol. It'* a final short resting place for vehicles before they are crushed and sent to recycling heaven/heII and they treat them like crap. Plus it'* a hot pit of dirt, lol.

It'* heartbreaking really, to see these rides stacked and treated like trash...

Anyway, so here'* a couple pics of the Car-nage at the yard:

This sad specimen, a '96 SLE/SSE, had no motor or trans, but we grabbed some stuff from it anyway (see next pic)

We snagged some tweeters for my car and the upgraded 5-1/4"* for him. This is gratuitous door panel whorage... Oh yeah, I also snagged a driver'* window auto-down module for use in someone'* passenger side mod.

Another sad specimen, a '93/94 SE. This one had a complete and very clean motor, but we passed on most stuff. Except...

Look at the SE badges on the rear pillars. Snagged them and the pontiac badge off the rear. That'* what a putty knife is for...

Then we went to my place for some beers and to cool off for a while. Sorry, no pics of the beer..those bottles must have had leaks 'cause they kept getting empty pretty quickly.

Then, it was decided that we would replace my basic tape deck head unit with a nicer one with the equalizer in prep for some nicer speakers in the future.

Trim panel off already, old unit almost out.

Old one on top, upgraded replacement under it.

All done! About 5 minutes or less...

You would not believe the sound quality difference!!!!

Apparently, my old head unit was going bad. I had thought that my speakers were going bad, but it appears as if the head unit was failing, starting with the right channel.

All-in-all, a marvellous upgrade.

Then we got some pizza and chilled some more...had a couple vodka-orange juice screwdrivers. Messed with a white Pontiac badge..

A very nice Wednesday afternoon get-together, I'd say.

Sadly, there were fewer Bonnevilles there this time than last. There was a pretty sad '88 in there that had some decent things on it, but their prices, while not outrageous, aren't cheap enough for me to just load up on maybes.

No L67s this time around, sorry... :(
