Default VIN Number

Is there a way to find out what each of the digits in my Vin number stand for?

Thanks for your help.

if someone has alldata they can look it up. Actually try searching for it here on BC. There is a post about it. It was from ALLDATA.

in a nut shell ......the VIN will tell you. the country and year of manufacture; make, model assembly plant, and serial number;

you can read more here. http://www.autoinsurancetips.com/decoding-your-vin

now if you want to know more about the options your car has you need to read the RPO codes that are located on the cover of your spare tire cover.

and they can be decoded here. http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article&k=13

hope it helped.

edit: this is pretty cool http://www.pronto-net.com/vin_app/vin.php

Wow: Thanks for your help. This is exactly what I was looking for. Sure and the info. has to come from a guy who is a Red Sox fan I bought this car for my 16 year old son who is also and has been a big sox fan and has been for most of his life. He'll be happy to know the help came from a fellow sox fan.

Thanks again for your help
