I'd suggest getting Ad-Aware or SpyBot. If it did that to you, then you already have something on your computer. Be careful downloading any toolbar. It may block other popups, but may still contain spyware. Just some FYI....

i've had good luck with the google toolbar. i've had it on my computer for over a week now and it shows i have blocked 147 popups. i also have adaware 6 on my pc.

Awesome. I have been hearing some good things about it, especially for it being free. Before the Google toolbar, what I said above certainly held true as a general rule of thumb, and, for the most part, still does.

This babies goin in the bookmarks...I have quite a collection now.

For browsers, I use Opera (www.opera.com). Small third party browser that has lots of customizations and very user friendly. Doesnt keep hidden history files or goof up the comp like IE either...and best of all, its under 10MB!
