Well... for starters a year and trim model would help. Some versions of the 3800 with Dex-cool coolant had issues with gaskets failing. A fairly easy fix but its nice to know if the issue has been dealt with.
Overall the 3800 motor across all 3 series revisions has been a very strong, reliable powerplant. Earlier versions of the transmission were weak (late 80'* mainly) but most of the issues were resolved for at least normal driving in later years.
They are common enough that finding parts usually isn't a hassle unless its on one of the rare-er trim packages or older cars that are getting crushed.

easiest thing to do is.. pick an upgrade ie exhaust and then
so a search.. you will find tons of threads on it.
then search for rims.. again you will find tons of threads.. with lots of info..
rims for example.. bolt pattern is 5x115 dont get 5 x114.5 or anything other than the
5x115..
20 inch rims will fit.. dont thing bigger will work..
mine are 20 inch and 8.5 wide.. they just fit. style/design is up to you.
for engine upgrades.. INTENSE is the name you want.. but they are in the USA..
but almost everyone here uses INTENSE..

Before you start thinking about upgrades, may I suggest you get it on the road first. Have you had it Certified/Safetied and had an Emissions test on it yet? Is it plated yet?

It is my understanding that this car was sold as a pay and go.
pay the price go straight to the road..
funny story ,, i was told it failed emissions so the owner went to the shop and inquired..
turns out tech tested it with traction control on.. not sure exactly how this effects the result but he told tech to test without traction control and it passed with flying colours.
just so everyone knows.. this "seller" is the same person who i purchased my white
1990 from.. the guy who did all the fixing on my 94 .. the welding . frame work ect..
car was well taken care of and maintained.

Exhaust won't do anything but change the sound until you're in the 13'* on the quarter mile. For now, just a high-flow cat will open up a little power for you.
What do you want for suspension? That'* a pretty broad term.
I can find you some lift kits. (how about getting alot more specific with what you want......swaybar bushings? Struts? new springs???)
In the meantime, please put 97 SSEi in your signature by editing your profile. That way everyone knows what you have when you ask questions.
