Actually the 4.8L is the smaller V8 used on 99+

Also, myy father in law has an 8.1L in his 2007 Sierra 2500 HD, same as his 03 2500 HD. Just another displacement to add to the list. 4.8L .... Is that mostly in work trucks? or is super-stripped down LS model Silverados too?
