Default Transmission Advice

Well as I was cleaning my tranny tonight I got to thinking; I am doing a decent amount to my motor and almost nothing to the trans. I have a side case gasket, pressure solenoid, and a ZZp shift Kit, but that is it.

My question to you experienced, and performance minded individuals, is this:

What maintenance, or preventative measure should I take?
What up grades should I make if any? External cooler maybe..?

I am on a budget so I don't want to go crazy, but I don't want to brake it either. Also the car will be driven daily or close to it for a while, so nothing that will eat gas up to much.

Just so you know the engine will have a 3.4, XP cam (single timing chain with 105# valve springs), custom PCM flash/tune, autolite 104s, TOGs, N* TB with LQ4 MAF, I think thats it... Down the road a Gen V swap and maybe, MAYBE a intercooler...later though.

All opinions, and suggestions welcomed and appreciated.

My wish list suggestion would be send the valvebody, spacer plate and channel plate to Dave at TEP for all the upgrades etc. Pick up a hardened 4th clutch hub to install at the same time.

Overall there'* little to do w/o rebuilding the entire trans. Any sloppiness in the trans valve body could be updated/upgraded and fixed. The 4th clutch hub is an automatic once you are in and can be done with only needing the two channel plate gaskets.

A higher stall torque converter is a good idea. Between 2500 and 3000. Keep in mind most of these high stall TC have a different bolt pattern so you will need to swap your flex plate. And that'* not a big deal.

I think I am going to but one of the rebuild kits, plus a hardened 4th gear clutch shaft, and a trans go shift kit (maybe a converter if I can find one at the right price) and have a shop or a certified trans guy do it. My father and I have no experience with these or really any auto transmissions so we don't feel comfortable doing it. But thanks for the links they will be helpful.
