Personally I don't really see any benefits of trading up to that particular car unless you are getting huge haul of cash with the trade in.
Yeah it has more options, better styling(according to preference) and fairly low miles. I wouldnt ever trade in for an earlier model of the same car, even with options.

Keep yours, try to find a 02 sle if anything. Sounds like it would be a big step down just for adding the L

personally I think the 2000+ se is too base for even a rental car. Go for the SLE or at least a SSEi. Dont worry about it being as bit older. I would rather drive a older car that I really like than a newer one that is base and I am not as happy with.

I know toastedoats has a SE and an Aurora that he said was his beater. Imho the 2000 SE would be the beater and the Aurora would be the good car even thiough its older.

No offence just my 2 pennies.

we could play cat and mouse on comparison all day.

(I just love using that smiley) I'm another one that Toasty is talking about.... it comes down to personal preference.... I like the SLE style better... I've had the roadrash on the side rocker panels... bottom line is to do what you can afford to do and feel best about doing.

I agree I love SLE and SSEi'* but it seems car age and milege is enough reason in this situation not to do it.
