For those that actually put a new cup holder in your car

How did you take out the black leftover clips on the ring? I plan on buying another soon and wanted to get those old clips off.

i used tin snips to break them off.

took me a while.. but it was when i first got the car so i was still quite the newb. I installed the whole assembly. I have pics for ya.. but Cardomain is down right now.. so ill get em for ya soon.

I took a dremel (hand held rotary tool) with a cutting disk and cut a slit into the old plastic rings. Then just pushed them off with a screwdriver...
