hummm. .that seems strange.. as far as I know.. it'* a lil U bend at the part that holds down on the lil pins on the center console. As far as I know.. take a lil jewelers slot screwdriver to pry it and widen the U bend while pushin it backwards ( towards the back ) it shoudl eleviate any kinda clamps holdin it in when you pry it open and push it back. Have to go take a look now...

Default Cup Holder in Center Console

Are you talking about the one that pops out of the arm rest? If you are i know how to take it out. All you have to do is : when it'* out and down, slowly twist it and push it torwards the back of the car at the same time. it should just pop right out torwards the back.
hope that helps

Default Cup Holder Replacement

Figured this one out. ..... The stock cup holder doesn't have slots in the cup holder arms like the replacement ones.... Soooo with A nice pair of wire cutters ... just snip the plastic off the hinge pin and violia snap the new cup holder in place.

You don't want to take it out, you'll lose about 10-15 hp!
