No the guage for the oil pressure does not even go up or down when the car is started it is just stuck in 1 position a little about 40 psi. Any clue? I was thinking the guage itself could be bad

That sounds like a bad gauge, it'* not going threw a self test. Might be stuck. Try tapping it when you turn the key.

Yes I tapped it when I turned the key no luck...seems to be the guage. I will take it to the pontiac dealer tomorrow and get bent over I am sure but its the only way to fix it. I also took my remote that didnt work to car toys and they fixed it perfectly for 45 bucks and the remote engine start even works!

Well my gas guage is acting funny it shows half then full then 1/3..so I hope my floater is not going out now!

yup that'* the floater gm sells them for $143.xx plus labor if ya don't want to do it yourself we have a right up on how to do it

I'm a little late, but maybe I can still chime in on the V6 Mustang versus a Bonneville. I have a naturally aspirated Series 2 99 SLE, aka the SLO. It has just the mods you see at the bottom. A friend of mine had a V6 Mustang with a manual, and we did a ton of work on it with long tube headers, a fender well intake, porting & port-matching the intake manifolds, throttle body, colder plugs, days of tuning, all that, and then we raced. He drove my Bonneville, and I drove the Mustang. I was completely blown away by my own car - he put several car lengths on his Mustang already by 40mph. That'* nuts!

Another time he was driving my car, and I drove his to scan it for whatever may come up. I went wide open throttle, and after about a second I saw my Bonneville just zoom right past me. I pulled up to him at a stoplight and asked why he was racing. He said he wasn't, it was just half-throttle, and he only wanted to get away from how loud the Mustang was. The Bonneville back then had a stock exhaust, all leather, four doors, an automatic, everything working with twice the mileage (86K on the Mustang), and it just trashed that Ford. And the SSEi is even faster!

I see on the previous page that you posted you bought the Bonneville. I'm just letting you know this so you can feel even better about your purchase. Do mods!

Sounds like your going to need to change the sender unit. Lucky for you there'* a access plate in the trunk to do that, so you wont need to drop the gas tank.

Fix the oil Gauge first. That chiming sound on your video i really hope that its not chiming the whole time while your driving because that would annoy the hell out of me get that fixed then the fuel because even if the readers going out it will eventually say it will need gas even though your fuel senders going out. if your taking it to the dealership tell them to fix it all at once if possible that way you have nothing to worry about unless of course you plan on doing it yourself.

Sorry to post in the wrong forum but just wanted to let everyone know it was the oil sending unit that was the problem. ALL is fixed now!

Glad you got it fixed out of curiosity how much did you end up paying for a new sensor?
