I've got about 8k miles on my Kumho Ecsta 911s. 235/60/17 or something like that. Total was like $370 or so from Tire Rack (drove down to them in South Bend, really cool place). Treadwear rating'* 320, which isn't the best, but decent and my parents bought them for me

. These tires are pretty good to me.

Tires are so expensive and retail markup is about 50%, so if you can take advantage of wholesale prices somehow...its worth the shopping around.

You definitely need to shop around as well as haggle. When I first took the car to Discount Tire to have it fixed and they said they couldn't, he quoted me $194. So I talked to the dealer to see if they had a warranty on the tires they put on, but they didn't. The salesman told me that they could get me the tire for $170 plus installation, but he didn't think to ask what that cost was. So I just called Discount and told them I could get the tire done at the dealer for $180, and the guy agreed on the spot. I expected them to call the dealer to confirm, but they never did.
