I'm going to replace a cracked RH Tail Lamp (qtr pnl) on my 2001 LeSabre.

The dealer wants $200. Salvage yard $168 - GM Parts Direct about $133 + $30 shipping. I found one at Auto Parts Warehouse online for $101 & free shipping (what a deal).

I was planning on getting the $101 from APW and hoping the lens color matches, or is at least close enough not to make me stare at it every time I walk to my car. I really like OEM parts, just not the OEM prices.

A quick glance on ebay suggest $50 would be a reasonable value.

The salvage yard is most unreasonable, and unless your car is in like new condition, I have yet to see a 'new' lens not stand out as 'new' amidst an ocean of 13 year old plastic.

Heck, you can easily rustle up a center section for $100 on ebay, not to mention what you can find if you lay and wait for something.

Thanks. The ones I spotted on ebay were in the $80-$90 range. Some even looked like the lens color was washed out - almost pink. Most looked like OEM color.

All my exterior lamps have that like-new appearance, so I'd like to match that - and that costs more, I know. These days, I could do a lot with the $15 I might save by buying from ebay over APW'* $101

I'll consider that. Thanks!
