Default Sumitomo Tires

Well, I'm thinking about taking the rubber plunge... I've been running on a set of Rocky Mountains from Discount Tire (their bottom-of-the-line you-get-what-you-pay-for tires that basically roll, and that'* about it) :?

I was looking into these Sumitomos, the HTR H4... I know they are cheap (sorry, ECONOMICAL), but according to people I've heard from, the individual reviews, as well as the overall test results/surveys, they seem to be a great performance tire. Plus, I'm not working with a whole lot of cashflow right now, so I'm trying to get the best for the buck.

Here'* the link to what I'm talking about...

I was just wondering if anyone else has run these tires, and what your experience (seeing as it would most likely be another Bonneville, this would greatly affect my decision) with them has been. Thanks everyone!

I run a similar tire from Kumho... not any more expensive, but with equally impressive ratings for the price. I would say go ahead and take the plunge, or look up the offerings from Kumho.

Any reason why you're looking at the 215/60/16? If that'* what came stock on your car then go for it... I was under the impression the 16 inch wheel packages came with the 225/60/16, which is what I run. Not that huge of a difference, though.

I ran the Sumitomo HTR 4 on my acura cl type *. I thought they were very good for the price. The only problem I had was when my ex wife hit a huge pot-hole. The tire bubbled on the side and had to be replaced, but this hole would have damaged a truck tire. While I had the car I rotated the tires every 10,000 miles and after 40,000 miles they had good tread left.

Bottem line. I would buy them again.

Awesome info guys, I've always heard good things about Sumitomo/Kumho'*, just hadn't ever tried any out, so after seeing the affordability of them, I was a little skeptic.

I was looking into the 225/60/16... I believe that'* what the original tires I had were, the 215 was from when DT replaced the tires with the ones that are on there now.
