Default Sucks I lost

My friend who has a Ford Contor with a K&N filterfollowed me to my friends houseI was angled on this small street by a church he pulls next to me asks if I want to race I say ok one of my friends gets out om my car and runs to the end of the strip. Now this strip from the very begining to the underpass is like 1/8 mileand the road is almost not big enough for both of us and there wre cars in the parking lot so we could only race far enough for my car to hit 40.

after my friend gets to the end to signal the race we are still talking form car to car and the other car looks forward for a sec as we are signaled I did not know that we were signaled until he hit it so I look forward and gun it starting to catck up as he hits seccond. Then I hit some snow spinning my tires for a sec and I keep going. As it turns out my friend was to close to the strip so at the end when im still in front of his back bumper I have so slam on the breaks to keep from hitting my friend.

So I lost my first race. I will easilt beat him if we find a place that is gib enough and i pay attention

You didn't lose. You just used good judgement. If he considers that a win (a CONTOUR? ), then he'* pretty lame. Nail him good next time. You know you can.

You should be able to smoke a Conture no problem. Now if you run up on a Conture SVT then that is something else. I do know that a Conture SVT can be taken by a GP GT with a good launch in the quater mile and a few mods. So it stands to reason that an SSEi can do some damage to the SVT as well. Now that I've finnished rambling you can go on.

There were too many lame factors that prevented you from winning. With a good solid stretch of road, you would have him.

A SVT Contour is a mid 15 second car at its best, not SVT'* best work. IMO take it to the track, the control over the environment there is much safer than on the street. Street racing, whether or not its scouted out and "safe" is never safe, as you saw. There are way to many un-knowns. Good luck with him, you should spank a contour easily
