It may be your O2 sensor. When this goes out, your mileage will drop 2-8 mpg. This is an easy repair, do it yourself and save on labor.

On your back exhaust manifold, follow the pipe down a few inches and you will see a senser sticking out of it with wires leading back up to the engine. That is the senser. Just make sure you do this while the engine is cold.

Look over the top of your engine and look on your exhaust pipe coming out the back your engine and there will be a spark plug looking thing with a couple wires coming out of it. Thats it, I think there might be 2?

When you o2 sensor goes bad do you replace both of em and do they not through a SES light?

Nine times out of ten you only have to change the first one (the one Kuhl and I described). The other O2 senser is down by the catalytic converter, and doesn't go out as often. Sometimes these will not throw an SES light.

WIth your 92, there should only be one O2 sensor, and it only has one wire.
