Default Substitute for foam around heater core?

Hello all

I have a 2002 Blazer I am going to be replacing the heater core in and so far have gotten all the parts I can that I think I will need to do the job.

Interestingly being a 2002 it seems many of the parts for it are no longer available so getting as much as I could has not been easy.

Sadly one of the parts I could not get is the foam that goes around the heater core for what I guess is the way they seal it up.

Am not really sure either, but given how hot the surface of the heater core is all the time (as there is not shut off for the coolant as a control for that) I have to suspect this is not just regular foam but something that can handle that heat.

Btw if anyone wants to check what they have lying around the PN for this foam is 52480246 so if anyone has one please let me know or as well knows of any source of one please let me know.

Anyway, in lieu of that I suppose I could use something else but just would think it would have be able to withstand those temps.

So does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks greatly
