I tend to think that my '90 SE was aimed at the Nissan Maxima, Audi Sedan type buyers,
rather than say someone that would have bought a '90 Impala or Crown Vic.
I think that my car is pretty fast, I love my passing gear.
I use my Bonnie as a commuter, I drive 30 miles each way on a turn pike.
The speed limit is 75, most people go 80 and I have no problem bumping it up to 85 or 90 to pass a truck or other slower moving vehicles.
This is my first car with a 3800, and I am very impressed with this motor.
Sure a bonneville isn't fast compared to a big block camaro or some other performance vehicle.
But for a sedan, especially an American one,
I would say that the Bonneville is a fast car.
And it corners better than a lot of other American sedans of the era.
In My Humble Opinion.

Later, CD
I used to drive a Corvette. Everything else by comparison seems slow. That said, my NA 3800 is faster than most people'* cars. The cars that it isn't faster than are pretty obvious. And more importantly, at some point I think a car is probably "fast enough". I've always been able to pass a truck on a highway, for example. I've never been disappointed with my car'* speed, and never wished I'd bought the supercharged version instead.
But then some people actually race cars, and for that task, a NA Bonneville is not the car to choose.

Fast enough for me. 140 mph easily achievable, yet rarely (if ever used). Faster then a 2800 lb sports car...no, faster then the majority of sedans on the road...yes.
But its all relative.
