Default someone please tell me about the white curse. please read

hi i have owned my white 1988 sse for 1 year and already this is everything bad that happened.

1- all my brake lines busted one by one.
2- all my tranny fluid lines busted 1 by 1.
3- both my motor mounts went and cracked at the same time.
4- my car keys were stolen along with my wifes purse in a resturant.
5- my steering coloumn cracked and caused me to loose control at 74 mph on the highway.
6- my 1 yr old alternator died.
7- my almost 2 yr old started died.
8- my mass air flow sensor died leaving me stranded 3 hours from home.
9- my passenger side back tire blew out on the highway at 55 mph
10- my front windshield cracked in 5 places during a ice storm this winter.
11- i was hit in the front by a hit and run driver with no plates in a red pickup. and had to replace my front bumper my drivers side fender and my hood and grill and lights.
12- my catco went and died.
13- my exhaust cracked pipe craked a month after replacing catco.
14- my back windows stopped going up and down.
15- my front brakes locked up 2 blocks from home. (warped rotors).
16- my back passanger control arm rusted thru and busted.
17- maaco gave me the worst paint job money can buy. now the paint is peeling 1 month after paint job.
18- some one stole 2 of my stock centercaps.
19- some ******* off ebay sold me rims and tires that did not fit after swearing up and down they were the size i needed. turns out they were a universqal 4 lug pattern. he did not show that in pics. he said it was universal 5 lug with 10 holes. and ebay wont help me so im assed out on $600

20- and last but not least my car was broken into 2 weeks ago and they stole my entire system and danaged my door so bad i had to buy a whole new drivers door and have it painted because they made a hole so big that the lock would fall right thru with out even touching the door. they got about $5000 car audio and they even stole my fitted hats that were on my rear deck panel by the back window..

after all this happens. 2 days ago i hear about something called the white curse...?

and yes i spent about $3000 repairing everything not including my stereo. and i got the car for free...............go figure.............

No one else has said anything to you yet, but - wow. That is some luck you have going there. I don't know much of the white curse, but if that were my car... I'd paint it!! I hope things turn around for you soon. That really is a great car if you can get past the bad stuff. It will go a long time - my 89 went 318000 miles and is still going!

Bonnevilling will become a pastime for you. With the help of Bonnevile Club, you can be assured of the support you need.

Good luck...

Since you were taking such a beating...we figured we'd leave you alone about the curse. Some people think it'* razzing and get pissy.

It'* real....I merely try and warn people to be ready. Never know what'* next.

I feel your pain about getting your sound system stolen. The same happened to me, but the crook was considerate of my locks and didn't damage them. Sorry about all the crummy crap that has been happening to you, I don't know about the white curse thing but I am glad I don't drive a white bonneville

What'* the oposite of white? ......Yes, black is....get yourself a black car and you won't get hit, and nothing will break down on it.

Wow!

That is some impressive (and depressing) list of problems and issues you have there. Sorry to hear about it. On the other hand, you've filled your top 20 list, so maybe the worst is over.

To answer your question, the so-called "white curse" is a concept largely (but no totally) created by all those jealous non-white colored car owners who jump on the occasional problems that happen to us. Now, mind you that there are many other colored cars that have and have had big issues, but the white cars are superior and therefore a target for all the wanna-bees here.

While I largely stay away from either subscribing or arguing against this named "curse", it'* important to remind you and others that all curses, in whatever form or type, are most effective on those that truly believe....

Do you believe????

In your case, the "White Curse" is basically AGE. 88? how was it taken care of before you owned it? Was everything stock form the factory when you baught it?

Thats some pretty bad luck, but I wouldnt blame the white curse since it doesnt exist i own a white car and nothing has happened to it and nothing will. If it does, I can only blame myself since I got WOT Envy!!

I accidentally wet my pants when I was 2 years old, and I didn't own a white car at the time - therefore the legend of the White Curse is obviously false.

The white curse actually has nothing to do with mechanical problems (IIRC lol). It has to do with the amount of white Bonnevilles that have been totalled or just been involved in accidents. If you're accident-free, you're not a victim of the curse.

Yet.

j/k

EDIT: Just saw #11. Yep, you're a victim.
