Wait. If the upper part of the intake is gone, does the peice underneath have a flat macined top, with a large square hole on the passenger side and a circular hole to the driver'* side? If it does, then the missing piece was a supercharger...

I'm betting failed UIM and rusted out lower internals. Consider that a drivetrain loss.

In other words might as well consider the car a rolling chassis.

Oh, don't worry about that. I'm buying this car. If it'* junk, I'll try and find a motor/tranny, whatever. If I can't do that, y'all get first dibs on the car.

OK guys, the guy that looked at the truck just left. He said he was going to call back later because he is looking at another car, but he sounded promising. I just called the salvage yard, and he said they won't be open until Monday, so I'll have to wait to get the car.

$350 for the car, (estimate) $500 for an L36...$850 for a perfectly good car could potentially be a money maker.

Cool, talk about deals! Hey why don't you just take the motor out of your current car and put it in the new one and part out the purple car, just an idea but cool that you found a cheap Bonneville that looks real good.

And how about pics?
