Default SLE tried to commit suicide

Well, my brother'* 00 SLE was involved in another accident today. Today my brother'* SLE veered off the road to the left hand side after hitting a bump and went off the road at 35 MPH and hit two trees on the passenger side of the car. There was snow on the ground, and he has no idea what happened. I posted a thread on here I think around two weeks ago about the "loose" front end and how the car would "jump" to one side after hitting a bump. He said it felt similar to that, but this time, the car went out of control and he couldn't correct the skid. The car was pulling to the left and no matter how much he tried to turn to the right, the car wouldn't go to the right to avoid the trees. It hit one tree in the front end, spun around, and hit another tree on the rear end. He said by the time he went off into the ditch where the trees were, he was probably down to 15-20 MPH so I don't think the damage would be significant enough to total the car, although he said both bumpers are cracked. This is the 3rd wreck this car has been in (two before he bought the car.) Just seems like this car doesn't want to live any longer. hah. It veered off the road for no reason, like I mentioned. The ironic thing was that he was on his way to the mechanic to get the car looked at for this problem.

EDIT: this was the previous thread

Maybee that Bonneville is related to this car:

Just an update. He took it to the body shop and they said that both rear shocks are blown out and the passenger side wheelwell assembly will need to be replaced. I asked my brother whether they were referring to the plastic insert, or something else, and he said whatever they were referring to was metal. Does this mean the quarter panel then or what? I"m confused. Both bumpers will need to be replaced as well. They didn't mention any unibody damage or anything yet though.
