Yea.. the speedo has it.. and when the HUD lights up when you turn the ignition to on position.. it lights up all the HUD light.. and it does have km/h and MPH. It'* just I use my HUD a lot more than the speedo, just the way I hold the steering wheel with one hand.. it usually blocks most of the speedo.. that'* why I wanted it on the HUD :?

The HUD unit is the same unit as others from your model year, so the disply will have both available. Check with your dealer for the wiring diagrams and compare it to what is in your car. The wiring for the switch may be there, but the switch was left off since the car was made for sale in Canada. If this is the case, you may be able to order a "Yankee" HUD dash switch with the E/M button.

Like SSEiGuy said, in '97 GM made a "step backwards" to the HUD control switch deleting the button. I dont think it is possible to swap out for an older one, because another major thing GM did when they made this mod was they changed the adjuster from a cable to an electric motor. On my '95 last winter, the car was still pretty cold one morning heading to work (my heat was broke still then), and I got pissed trying to force the HUD to a more comfortable spot on the windshield and bent the end of the cable because the cable was frozen. The cable is only like $10 at the dealer, but I was able to simply bend mine back. I've noticed on 97+ Grand Prix'* and Bonnevilles now, that there is no more cable actually running up to the unit. the switch is electric now, and sends a signal to an electric motor mounted on the HUD itself which then moves it up and down on the windshield. This was probably their main reason for updating the unit.
Also, in 97+ models, the actual numbers in the HUD are ALOT smaller than our earlier models. I love my '95 because the HUD numbers are big and bold. After test driving both a '98 Grand Prix GTP Daytona 500 Pace Car and a 2000 Bonneville SSEi within the past year, I've noticed that both of them have alot dimmer, smaller HUD'*.
Just some info
