I just looked at Ford'* website. On the Mustang, it uses a 232ci with 193HP @ 5500, and 225ft-lbs @ 2800, with 3.27 gearing.
The Windstar uses a 3.8 with 200HP @4900, and 240ft-lbs@3600.

All hp anf torque ratings aside, I have owned a ford 3.8 in my '89 continental and all I can say i sthat engine is crap. I can't take any abuse without blowing a head, hp wasn't that great, and it was slow overall. I raced (or tried to race) a lot of cars in it and the only ones I could beat were teh stock economy imports. The 3800 is by far the better performing engine over the Ford 3.8.
