we owned a 92 SE and a 95 SSE at the same time. The 95 felt much quicker in all driving conditions compared to the 92. The SSE drove like a totally different car.

That'* because the Series 2 delivers it'* peak hp and tq at a higher rpm.

Series 1 will be quicker off the line because of it'* lower rpm peaks, but fall short at upper rpms as discussed above.

Yeah, they shift in the mid 40'* out of first. Series II L67'* are much higher though due to the 2.93 gearing. Our SSEi shifts at 5950rpms which is 56mph out of first.
