Doesn't sound unreasonable. WTF, why keep half assembled, non-functioning and possibly unlicensed cars out in the open?

As a property owner, living in your area, I'd be pretty pissed to see wrecks of cars in peoples driveways. Reduces property value.

but its his own property.. he should have every right to keep his car there if he pays his property tax.. and i would not mind it if it were in my area...

i would only mind it if every single house in my neighborhood had a half assembled car on their driveway... just one or 2 is fine to me...

you own the house and property and pay tax you should be able to do what ever you want on your property as long as its not a danger to those around you...

just my thoughts... put a car cover on it.... im positve they cant say nothing about it then....

Most cities have strict rules about "undesirable cars".

For example, my city does NOT like diassembled, decrepit, or vandalized cars sitting in driveways or backyards. They will -

A - Warn you about the offending cars, you get one and only one warning
then
B - Give you a $1500 fine

Personally, I hate when cars sit in driveways disassembled, It looks absolutely terrible, and I myself would report something like that, as it does make a neighborhood look undesirable, as most people think "Hey, if the people around here let a car sit like that, there must be a lot of bad things that happen in this area".

Yes, I have a Corvair sitting in my driveway that isn't pretty, BUT it has historical plates on it, and is covered, thus no complaints.

I go out shoe shopping, and this happens! How this thread has grown in so little time! In truth, my mom keeps threatening to get rid of this car and buy me a new one, but there'* no way I'm letting that happen. That'* wrong! WRONG!!

I've got some facts to lay down.

1. I have no idea what those section codes mean. Searching soon.
2. I can start the engine, and it'll run and drive. It shifts through all the gears, and it moves better than probably any other 292K-mile 1994 vehicle.
3. It'* licensed and plated.
4. It'* not a car wreck. I can just put back on the fenders, bumpers, headlights, and put back in the seats. I'd have a totally electronically malfunctioning vehicle, but it wouldn't be "missing parts," and it wouldn't seem "wrecked."

My neighbor let his car sit disassembled in front of his house, and his kid joined a gang as a result!

It'* not like I'm trying to leave my car disassembled. I've got until the beginning of May to fix this up, so I'll just keep working on it but return some things and cancel other plans. Someone else will do the inner tie rods and transmission filter/fluid flush. Other than that, I'll spin it around so that the back of the car faces the street, and I'll put all the wheels back on. Since the transmission flush and inner tie rods are out of the planner, there'* not that much reason to have it jacked up.

I'll pick up a rear bumper from a JY and paint it, and then in less than a half a day I'll swap out the bumper covers. That'* probably the more appealing way to go about it. Too bad by then that the rear will face the street. :P I've been dropping by the electrical section of this forum and NEBC as well, and we just can't figure out what'* wrong. I have an idea, though, so everyone who cares please check soon the electronic section for my step-by-step guide to fixing a Radomirian vehicle'* electronic system.

After I'm finished working on my car so that it'* drivable again, I'll make a giant list for that electronics blowout sale. Who knows, you might end up with some of my 94'* former electronics parts! I've been stockpiling, and my parents are becoming concerned. We've got a storage place and a couple rooms ready to ship out...

when i lived in alabama peeps had like 7 cars in the yard. heck we had 2 grand ams that didnt run in our yard. even here in illinois just down the block theres 2 or 3 cars torn down in a couple of driveways and its been that way for a year or 2 and im just 20 mins south of chicago, just put a car cover over it and stick it to them.
