Rotors: Cheap vs. Premium
When I bought my car the rotors were warped. I pulled them an had them turned. I remember looking at them when I took them off to see how much meat was on them and I was impressed with how thick they were. As far as I know they're GM original rotors. I'd like to see how they compare to the thickness of the premium rotors.
My original 90 SSE rotors cracked and made a thumping noise.
I sprung for the Autozone Duralast $12 rotors and the car has stopped like a dream since.
No problems at all, no cracking, no warping, no rapid pad wear, and plenty thick. Guess it depends on the quality of the raw material when manufactured.
Wonder who makes those cheap OEM'*?

Go with the Bendix Rotors... I'd have to say ceramic pads as well...
I have the Bendix Rotors on my 95 Bonnie, and the Bendix Titanium metallic pads... They have good stopping power but leave a lot of dust...
On the 91 I have the regular Rotors and the Bendix Titanium Pads as well... Again they dust the wheels... Reason I like the pads is even after a good run on the interstate these pads don't have the Fade I had with the stock AC Delco pads, stopping power when hot is sure footed...
I think the Ceramics will be a step up from what you have now...
Good Luck

mmm...I'm fighting dust now. I spent two hours trying to get my rims clean today. They are usually black within a few days. I still didn't get them as clean as I would have liked.
So the ceramic will cut down on dust?

Never heard of X4.
Trust me when I say..
Bendix Rotors and Ceramic pads. You'll be very pleased. I've tested the stopping power once heated up and they grab great, like Jr's3800 says..there'* no fading or need to push the pedal harder.
