oxidation aluminum and steel... take a 2x4 or something and put it behind the rim and beat it with a BFH!! or sit on the ground nad kick the poop outa one side then the other..

but ya i would make sure its not gonna move first... JACKSTANDS

It was on my sisters '99 Alero. It needed front pads and both front hubs (one was bad, other the ABS got ripped out).

I put the lug nuts about 3/4 way back on the car, lowered the jack and shook the hell out of the car until I heard the rim break free. Wow, that is a pain to have to do to get the stupid rim to break free.
