I noticed an annoying noise earlier this week. It seemed to be coming from right under the middle of the car. I figured it was a heat shield of some sort as the noise stopped after 2k rpms. So when I was doing my oil change I crawled under and checked the exhaust.

Yup, heat shield above the catalytic. Three of the four welds were seperated so I just ripped the thing off, and now no more noise!

Are you going to get a new heat shield? Do you know why the old heat shield fell off to such an extent?
