It is good to see everyone escaped without injury, it looks like a pretty hard impact, at least for the front of it to look as bad as it is.
LOL! Good thing you weren't in front of my daughter! Considering how the population density is growing around here, I'm surprised there isn't a wreck on every corner every day.

Yeah, that impact was pretty bone-jarring I suspect. Imagine running your car into a wall at 25 mph without hitting the brakes. Your eyes would pop out three inches then snap back in. I figure she was going 30 or so, and the Grand Am moving away at about 5 mph for a delta of 25. Still a pretty good impact. Exactly what the airbags were designed for.

I think she'* OK. I told her "Well, it looks like you'll have to start driving the [2003] Silverado to school, eh?". She said "I'm NEVER going to drive again." I said "As much as I'd like to believe that to be true, I sense more throttle time in your future.". I have a nice bruise on my arm now, so I think she'* on the mend. Although she hasn't driven anything yet. Both my Hondas are sticks and, while she can drive one, she prefers not to. That'* why she had the Bonney in the first place.

*No, she'* NOT really driving my truck to school. I may be an idiot, but I'm not stupid.*

Glad to head she was OK and the car did it'* job. As for the car, you could fix that, depending on how bad the engine frame is. Even if it was just as a driver. Bring it to Binghamton, NY and we'll have a red front on that car in no time...

and make sure when you replace it, the car is something your daughter can feel safe in, like another bonneville.

Ahh, I figured it was a woman driving. JUST KIDDING!

Once again, glad they're ok. But umm, I think a new fitting name for that car instead of Nightmare should be Whitemare. Yeah sorry. Must really suck to have lost it.

A red front end would look good on it. I tried to get the airbag back in the steering wheel and duct-tape it back up, but couldn't stuff it back in there without it looking stupid so even if I could get a new front end on it, it just wouldn't be the same.

Figured it was a woman driver, eh? You are a brave, brave man. Dead, yes, but brave.

Better to lose a car than a kid, I reckon. Although there were times I could have taken them out myself.

...I feel your pain... not sure if you caught it two weeks ago, buy my 19 yr old totaled his Bonnie... I had mixed feelings between " Are you okay?" and "Is the car okay?" Luckily I asked them in the politically correct order.

Make her drive! I got in a horrible wreck in 2001 and almost died. I vowed I'd never drive again, I was to scared. My mother made me...

Man..... glad to hear that everyone made it out ok.

Another Bonnie to the rescue..... GOD, that'* what I love about these cars!

But another whitey falls by the wayside....... I think it'* time to sell mine, or maybe paint it? Not sure if painting would be enough to eliminate the curse.

LMAO @ Bandit'* comment on the GP......

Bummer Stan. Glad no one was hurt. Good, heavy 4-door sedans pay off when the goin' gets tough. My kids drove an 88 Olds through High School. One accident makes you realize how expensive an "economy" car can be.
