im talking to a guy on facebook (who will be a member here cause i referred him) whos doing a turbo l36. he told me that if i have an l36 to take off the "uim" and "toss away the runners" which will take me less than 1hr and add 25 horse. what does all this mean and how can i do it? ( i dont even think my gt is an l36 to begin with but, just thought id ask.)

Your GT does have an L36. L36 is a series II naturally aspirated engine. I would not take the runners out. You might gain horsepower but you will loose a lot of low end torque. If you want to remove the runners and gain HP and Trq you need to buy a HV3.

Cutting down the runners in the insert is something guys do. I'd never suggest reomoving them completely. The HV3 has been determined to be the proper runner length. So cutting the plastic runners in the stock manifold would help.
