Default DUMB QUESTION

hey guys , just wondering . i haven't checked my */c oil yet . do u think having a low level would effect performance ? cause i'm reading low boost ( 5-6 pounds the most ) i don't think it'* pulling the way it should . mind u my '''ses'' is on and it reads QDM 1 .

QDM1 controls my boost control solenoid , evap canister solenoid , and my tcc apply solenoid . do u think my boost control solenoid is toast , since i feel the pull from the */c and sometimes i don't?
any help would be appreciated
thnx in advance .

Al

The oil won't cause that. It could be bad though.......and you'll hear it if it gets bad enough, but that'* usually too late. If you don't know when it was changed last, change it! Procedure up in Techinfo.

Does it stay on constantly while you are driving?

Give us the code number.

There is a good chance that your boost control solenoid has gone bad because you are having problems with the boost as well.

If it was your evaporative canister purge solenoid, you would likely have a rough or high idle. If it was the TCC, you would notice that the trans was not operating properly. The error code is telling you that one of those three things is not responding as commanded.

The best way to test it is with a Tech 1 or Tech 2, because you can command the boost control solenoid off and on and see if it responds correctly.
