yes it will do just fine.
but i know right after this others are going to say no don't do it because they have no experience with it. i have done the EXACT same thing as you before and it held for over 6 months until i got it replaced. you will be fine if you do a good job. also post up some pics. i'm so tired of reading thread after thread with 0 pictures. do a write up or something.
