Can you try to get the money for repair from the city?

I know up here if your car is damaged due to a pothole or something that the city is responsible for taking care of you can sue (take them to court) and have a chance at getting them to pay for you damages.

I would think that the city would be responsible. That is part of what your tax dollars pay for. If enough people file complaints you would think that they'd take care of it. That really sucks!
