Default How many people are looking for a desently priced CAI????

I am looking to find out how many people are looking to buy a CAI. I ran it to a bunch of stuff to put a bunch of custom CAI'* together. This kit would consist of ONE K&N Xstream rx-4730, 3inch intercooler piping and intercooler silicone coupler with high strength coupler clams. I will post a pic of what my intake looks like as soon as I get a camera. the final cost on this has not been figured out yet.

Just curious, why the RX-4730 and not the 4750?

i just liked the look of the rx-4730 better but if the demand is for the rx-4750 then i will put that filter in the kit.

For clarification, you're talking about a HAI. Hot-air-intake. A CAI is fully shielded from the engine bay heat.

Call it a custom intake

Do you think this would mount on a GP?

there is a lot less room in there Sol, I would get one from a GP vendor, on thats designed for a GP.

Hey Eclipse, post some pics or something, I'm sure potential buyers would appreciate how it would look

From what I hear, all that'* needed to make it closer to a cai is to put the plexi shielding around the filter (like wrens). Would it work on all the cars? Mine has a couple of harnesses right next to the airbox (has a little plastic cover going over both.)

Ok here'* some terms for everyone.

CAI Cold air intake, must block main engine bay heat from entering the engine

Ram Air, a system that encorporates some sort of collector/scoop that forces air into a smaller pipe, into the airbox. Works best @ speed.

Many people use these names for a generic intake.

A single CAI design wouldn't work from year to year or trim level to trim level. Things move around too much, heights of compressors, single/dual washer reserviors, etc.
