Default pissed off bonneville owner

went to have my turn signal fixed cuz its broken...and they said it woudl cost about 700 -800 cuz it needed a new column...all the stuff in the inside was busted...he said it lookd like someone had tried to break into it or someone f'd up a column job....so needless to say i didnt fix it...

So how bad is it really? You're telling us what he told you, but not what really happened...

Anyway, how much in the steering column actually doesn't work? i.e. What specifically needs to be fixed vs. what is still working?
