In the end its not the car that matters, but the people in them...

:
white Bonnes have a way of finding trouble (getting vandalized, wrecking, getting hit by other cars, and all other kinds of weird crap)

I do not think that the pilot has any fault in this. The front wheel broke off and there is virtually nothing to stop the plane. I actually give credit to the pilot for saving hundreds of lives on board.

If you were blaming the aircraft engineers and maintenance personnel, my viewpoint would have been different.

This incident was not due to pilot error, or mechanical failure, nor was it a problem with the airport, Midway sucks as an inner city airport but it falls within FAA regulations.

It was weather, apparently the visual distance was exactly the length of the runway making the distance hard to judge.

Kenn mentioned he was near the crash site at the time, I bet he could easily confirm the state of the weather at the time.

I agree 100% Jim, Midway has very short runways, and as soon as they hit ground, they have to slam the brakes on, and on take off, some times mom said she could feel the back of the plane feel like it was scraping the ground. and she used to travel that way everyday to work and back when we lived there
