Bought ACDelco Copper Core plugs and duralast wires (cost me $40!) Thinking about taking the wires back and getting ACDelco wires from somewhere else, since they dont carry them at AutoZone.

Has anyone used Duralast wires? Perform good?

I usually get my tune-up parts at GM. Last time I did a tune-up on the Bonne, it was cheaper at GM for most of the parts than it was thru Napa. This was quite some time ago, prices may have changed.

I've heard the duralast wires are pretty shitty. Most duralast branded things I've bought are pretty shitty.

To Autozone'* credit, they do offer grades of alot of the parts. If you chose the cheapest, you are getting the cheapest they can get from a vendor. I also go NAPA. They seem to have a degree of care about where they get the parts and having their name on it. Although getting better than OEM wont improve performance as far as spark plug wires, it can hurt to go cheaper. Stores can offer a cheaper price because the vendor is using cheaper materials. They aren't doing it to shave their profits and give you a better deal.

Like mentioned there are different grades at AZ. IMO the Durabrands aren't something I'd typically put in my vehicle. Due to location, I frequent Advance more often (it'* a long 1/4 mile between the two). I find that they have good pricing and can get AC Delco in many cases, as well they have other alternatives besides their low budget brand (which I also don't use). Autolite Professional wires are quite nice and may be OEM quality.

I have Duralast wires on my 98 SE. I bought them because I had been getting misfires from the old wires. I haven't had a problem with them. I have Autolite 606'* in there too.

It might be different for other people though, you never know...

All of the Duralast parts I have ever bought come with a statement that says they are OEM quality or better (MAP Sensor, brake springs, wires, etc). Of course, I only use store brand parts when they are a) significantly cheaper or b) the only thing available.
