Default Original Factory warranty question

Does the original factory 36/36,000 warranty stay in force no matter how many owners a car has? Does it have to be transferred with documentation like an extended warranty? I know about the in-service date, I just don't know about transfers. I haven't bought a used car in a decade. That'* hard to believe for a cheapskate like me.

Factory 3/36 does NOT have to be transferred. It'* in effect for whomever is driving it when you pull up to the dealer.
