Mobil 1 works great for me. It rarely breaks down before 5K, however, I'd say if you have a high mileage engine be very careful if its use to regular. Syn is thinner and any oil leaks you didn't have you will, well I developed two oil leaks one week after my first mobil 1 change. Never leaked oil until then. Also, it will clean you're engine out pretty good when you start using it, which can uncover hidden problems with some higher mileage engines.

Hey bud, i'm home in lakeville on spring break. Tuesday was Engine detailing (she'* SPOTLESS) Wed was interior work, then cleaning. Thursday... Bought Oil. Friday, dumped it in. The car is now revived.

My car just did 2000 miles last weekend. Didn't loose a drop of oil. never has used any, or lost any. Every tolerance that'* been looked at, has been at the top of factory spec

ill try mobil 1 generic. Actually its a sign the oil is doing its job if it turns black fast, its suspending all the crap in your engine waiting for the next oil change.

Was this you're first oil change Jason, how long have you had you're car? I guess i've been under the impression that you've had it for over a year due to all the work you've done to it. I've had my car for almost a year now and haven't done a darn thing to it. I know you had the Nova in high school so it couldn't be too long ago.
BTW. I remember you where working on a homemade intake for the series 1. I'd be interested if you have any.

I use the Rhino Ramps like Willwren'* except they are grey, I think they were aroud $25 at Auto Zone. Many times I don't even bother using ramps, but it'* a long reach to the drain plug when you can't lay under the car. I've always used Castrol GTX 10W30 and PF47 filters. I usually change the oil every 3000-5000 miles depending on how it is driven. Since my commute is 50 miles of highway driving each way, I go for the longer interval.

As far as Mobil 1, I just looked in the Corvette owner’* manual to see what GM has to say about it. The DIC on the Vette actually calculates when to change the oil based on how the car is driven. The manual says it is usually between 3,000 miles and 10,000 miles, but under severe conditions it may come on before 3,000 miles. They also say not to drive over 10,000 miles or 12 months without an oil change. It also states that if you drive in dusty areas that the oil should be changed every 3,000 miles

This is the first one I did on this car, and my first by myself (not a good thing under a jackstanded car),

Bought her June 23rd 2003. I've found a pipe solution, and then i use a 3" K&N X-stream.

I used jack stands and a floor jack to do it. I'm looking into those ramps next time I wanna get under the car though.

in the past ive used metal ramps, they were designed for my dads jeep, so they are very high, all i do is drive the car up on some 5"long 2x4 cut offs, and that gives it the clearance to get up onto the ramps without rubbing.

Hey that'* what i was gonna do first! I didn't want to start using the ramps in the garage without my dad'* advice. I don't know how he did it, so i just said eff it, and jacked it up.

Our metal ramps aren't fun though, those rhino ones look a lot easier, and safer.
