Default Oil Pressure Guage

mmk, i just noticed this last week, and it has been buggin the mess out of me. the oil pressure guage, why does th increment double after 40? it goes from 0-40 counting by 10, then after 40-120 counting by 20...

i know it didn't work but i tried a few times to figure out how that would work mathematically

but whats the reasoning for it?

Merely the way it was designed.

Not necessarily any specific reasoning.

It'* not linear, which is why it doesn't work mathematically the way you were looking at it. Also..it'* a gauge..aka estimate ...not an exact number.

I would think it'* safe to assume that the readings are intended to be more accurate for lower pressures.
