I'll call that article BUNKO until I see an oil-related failure or a batch of low-mileage engine wear issues amongst our cars. I'm runing Mobil1 in my car and have for nearly 5 years (the 93, not the 95). I have one of the cleanest, smoothest running engines here, and still consistently achieve 32mpg on the freeway.

Has anybody checked out what (if anything) Bobistheoilguy has to say about this?

Also, what is so magical about 2007 model year engines that would supposedly make them immune to the (purported) wear problems using the new oil? Isn't a 2007 3800 the same as a 2006 3800?

I don't know your answer, but I believe that there are no 2007 3800s.

Does not the 2007 Buick Lucerne, Pontiac Grand Prix, and possibly other cars (Impala?) come 3800-equipped?

They come with the 3.8L V6 or the 4.6L V8 depending on the trim level. The LD8 lives on.

The whole piece reads like a dramatic scare tactic to sell their oil to me as well. Racing engines that flatten 3 camshafts in a 2 month period? Please. At 800HP and 9000RPM, is this suppose to be abnormal?. Teams take three engines to a race. Most of the info in the read is speculative and actually contains little that can be researched and proven.
