I saw that yesterday too. I almost bit.

Back in the day (I won't tell you how long ago) Castrol was the cheapest oil you could buy in price and quality. That'* what the grocery stores carried if you know what I mean.

It'* hard for me to get by that old fact when I see the new line of oil they have, but I suppose it'* far better quality than it used to be.

I'm with you, Bill. The deals I used to find on Castol weren't quite as good, but still. I remember very distinctly back in 2001 buying as much Castrol as I could get from Meijer for $.89 a quart.

I'm still 100% brand loyal to Castrol even though the prices have surged significantly. I won't run anything other than Castrol. Very good value and quality, IMO.

(I'm talking about their reputation for quality being poor about 25 years ago......don't tell anyone).

I see constantly advertised some 5 quarts of synthetic oil, usually Pennzoil Platinum, and a Fram Toughguard filter, which is horrible, for about $22.99. It'* just better to buy your own 5-qt jug of Wal Mart Mobil 1 synthetic oil and a Purolator 24011. Absolutely a better value. However, the one you found is not bad. My cost before taxes comes out to be $24.96.

It'* great to see you're on the lookout for great oil change deals. Thanks for taking such great care of your car!
