I'm a little confused, isn't the bearing plate the same thing as the mount? I've always been told its a one peice unit.
You could save $200 by doing it yourself if you're so inclined. The tools are usually free to borrow from the autoparts stores.

If they are replacing the strut mounts, bearing plates, and struts and doing the alignment when finished then you are not getting a bad deal at all... If you could afford it I would reccomend replacing the rears too... But I know how it can be to be short on fundage

I looked on Autozone afterwards and they don't sell them seperate.

One other way to think about it, is hat you have to remove the struts to have the bearings installed, so why pay for the same labor twice if you needed the struts done in a month or so.
I know that if I have my struts done, I usually get it all done at once.

i am really happy! Instead of paying 500 for a shop to do it i bought the parts and a friend of mine, his dad and I did it. I didnt do much i was kinda the gopher, but my frends dad is a mechanic so he knew whar he was doin. i paid 230 for parts, w/ monroe reflex struts, and they did it for 100 labor. so i saved 170. now i just have to get an alingnment and its done. I can already tell a difference, lots better!

i did mine myself and my strut bearings were all dry and such, but i just packed em with a bunch of grease and they feel like new..and i replaced my two fronts and it only cost me a total of $100...it was not easy, but it was not enough to persuade me out of an extra $400
